This travelogue will be my (Laurie's) first attempt at a blog. A combo idea (thanks Deb) to keep trip notes and to keep friends & family informed about where we are & what we're doing. If it stops abruptly it's probably due to spotty internet connections, not dire circumstances. I haven't figured out how to post in chronological order, so please look at the dates.
This would not be possible without west coast tech support. Thanks Adam, for showing me how to blog. It's going to be a challenge doing this from my kindle - I can see very little text when keyboarding. Our camera isn't web connected (Feb update! new camera has WI FI), but there's lots of uploading & downloading involved & I'm already at my technical limit. Hopefully you'll see some notes here from Doug too.

Background - Three years retired and seriously considering why we spend winter in Wisconsin. Has anyone ever been here before? So we're embarking on a 3 month journey of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam & Myanmar. Spent last January in Ecuador & didn't miss home at all, so this may work. Going to ease into it on Intrepid's 40 day tour (small group, basic accommodations) of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam. I don't prefer tours, but there are a lot of languages, currencies, & borders involved here, so it seems like a good way to get started.
